Charles Frederick Sackett Sr, son of William Harvy Sackett and Harriet M "Hattie" Lytle, was born in Saegertown, Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG, on 15 November 1900.1,2,3 He died aged 74 in February 19754 and was buried at Saegertown Cemetery, Hayfield, Crawford CountyG.1 He married in about 1924, Alberta May Watson, daughter of Thomas Watson and Bertha Glunt. Alberta was born in Turtle Creek, Allegheny County, PennsylvaniaG, on 22 September 1903.1,3 She died aged 61 in Meadville, Crawford CountyG, on 13 November 1964 and was buried at Saegertown CemeteryG.1,5
In 1910 Charles was living at Euclid Avenue, SaegertownG, in the household of his parents William and Hattie, and was recorded in the census as Charles Sackett, aged nine and born in Pennsylvania.6
In 1920 he was living in HayfieldG and was recorded as Charles F Sackett, aged 19, a hired farm laborer in the household of Earl Seavy, 40, a farmer.7
In 1930 he was living at State Road #19, Woodcock, Crawford CountyG, and was recorded as Chas F Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 28. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Alberta, 25, and their children, Evelyn, 5, and Charlotte, aged one.8
In 1940 he was living in Vernon, Crawford CountyG, and was recorded as Charles Sackett, a machinist in a tool company, head of household, aged 39. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Alberta, 36, and their children, Evelyn, 15, Charlotte, 11, and Charles Jr, aged five.9
Charles completed a World War II draft registration card on 16 February 1942. He was aged 41 and was employed at the McCrosky Tool Corporation. He was living at 1280 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kerrtown, Crawford CountyG, with his wife.2
Charles and Alberta were listed in the MeadvilleG City Directory in 1951 and 1953. Charles was a machinist at the Barrett Machine Tool Company.10
