William Harvy Sackett, blacksmith, son of Jacob Thomas Sackett and Mary Jane Woodring, was born in Saegertown, Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG, on 25 July 1859.1 He died aged 79 in SaegertownG on 10 April 1939 and was buried at Saegertown CemeteryG on 12 April 1939.2,3 He married in about 1887, Harriet M "Hattie" Lytle, daughter of James A Lytle and Mary Cummings.4 Harriet was born in PennsylvaniaG in 1867.4 She died aged about 65 in 1932 and was buried at Saegertown CemeteryG.3
In 1860 William was living in Saegertown, Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Jacob and Mary, and was recorded in the census as William Sacket, aged ten months and born in Pennsylvania.5
In 1870 he was living in SaegertownG in the household of his parents Jacob and Mary, and was recorded as William Sackett, aged eleven.6
In 1880 he was living in Saegertown, Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Jacob and Mary, and was recorded as William H Sacket, a blacksmith, aged 20.7
In 1900 he was living in Woodcock, Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG, and was recorded as William Sackett, a blacksmith, head of household, aged 40. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Hattie, 33, and their children, Hazel, 10, Lillian, 8, Ralph, 5, and Herbert, aged four.8
In 1910 he was living at Euclid Avenue, Saegertown, Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG, and was recorded as William Sackett, a self-employed blacksmith, head of household, aged 50. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his wife Hattie, 42, and their children, Herbert, 14, Charles, 9, Gerald, 5, and Catherine, aged three.9
In 1920 he was living at Euclid Avenue, SaegertownG, and was recorded as William H Sacket, a laborer on the Erie railroad, head of household, aged 60. Living with him were his wife Hattie, 52, and their children, Herbert, 22, Gerald, 14, and Catherine, aged twelve.10
In 1930 he was living at Euclid Avenue, SaegertownG, and was recorded as William H Sackett, head of household, aged 70. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Hattie, 60, their unmarried son Gerald, 24, and their daughter Catherine, 23, with her husband William H Marvin, and their one-year-old daughter Janet.11
