George Sackett, a plasterer, son of Thomas Sackett and Mary Ann Stanner, was born in Margate, KentG, in 18521,2 and baptized at St John in ThanetG on 28 March 1852.2 He died aged 50 in Birchington, KentG, on 27 August 19023 and was buried at All Saints, BirchingtonG, on 30 August 1902.6 He married in Blean, KentG, in 1875, Louisa Else, daughter of Ann Else.4,5 Louisa was born in Pluckley, KentG, in 18527 and baptized there on 19 January 1853.8 She died aged 74 in BirchingtonG on 22 May 19269,10,11 and was buried at All Saints, BirchingtonG, on 29 May 1926.12
In 1861 George was living at 28 King Street, MargateG, and was recorded in the census as George Sackett, aged nine and born in Margate, son of Thomas Sackett.13
In 1871 he was living at 70 King Street, MargateG, in the household of his parents Thomas and Mary, and was recorded as George Sackett, a plasterer, unmarried, aged 19.14
In 1881 he was living at 30 Northumberland Road, MargateG, in the household of his uncle Stephen S Sackett, and was recorded as George Sackett, a plasterer, married, aged 29 and born in Margate. His wife and family were living at Chapel Street, Preston next Faversham, Kent, and she was recorded as Louisa Sackett, wife (head), plasterer's wife, married, aged 28 and born in Pluckley, Kent. Living with her were her children Alice, 5, twins Edith and Frederick, 3, and Lillian, aged ten months.15,16
In 1891 he was living at 34 Tanner Street, Faversham, KentG, and was recorded as George Sackett, a plasterer, aged 39. Living with him were his wife Louisa, aged 38, and their children, Edith, 13, Fred, 13, George, 9, Stephen, 8, Ernest, 3, Kate, 2, and William, aged eleven months.17
In 1901 he was living at 3 Dartford Villas, BirchingtonG, and was recorded as George Sackett, a plasterer, head of household, married, aged 49. Living with him were his wife Louisa, aged 48, and their children, Frederick, 23, Stephen, 17, Lewis, 15, Ernest, 13, Kate, 12, Sidney, 8, and Edmund, aged five.18
In 1911 George's widow was living at 3 Perfects Cottages, BirchingtonG, and was recorded in the census as Louisa Sackett, a widow on parochial relief, head of household, aged 59. Living with her were her children, Lillian, 36, Louis, 25, Ernest, 23, Kate, 22, Sydney, 18, and Edmund, aged 15, and her granddaughter Alice Elmer, aged 13.19
In 1921 she was living at 3 Perfect Cottages, BirchingtonG, and was recorded as Louisa Sackett, a widow, head of household, aged 68. Living with her were her daughters, Lilian, 41, who was blind, and Kate Euden, 32, a widow, with her daughter Lilian, aged six. Also in the household were Louisa's grandchildren, Alice Elmer, 23, and Edmund Elmer, 21, children of Louisa's deceased daughter Alice.20
In 1861 George was living at 28 King Street, MargateG, and was recorded in the census as George Sackett, aged nine and born in Margate, son of Thomas Sackett.13
