William Burdette Sackett, carpenter, son of Norman B Sackett and Olive Vine Ambler, was born in Mendota, LaSalle County, IllinoisG, on 13 November 1874.2 He died aged about 86 in 1961 and was buried at River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia, Kane County, IllinoisG.3 He married at LaSalle County, IllinoisG, on 18 November 1894, Marie Degenhardt.3
In 1880 William was living in Mendota, LaSalle County, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents Norman and Olive, and was recorded in the census as Willie Sackett, aged five and born in Illinois.4
In 1900 William was living at Ninth Avenue, Mendota, LaSalle County, IllinoisG, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, a painter, head of household, aged 25 and born in Illinois. Living with him were his wife Marie, 23, and their children, Richardine, 5, Bernice, 3, and Gladys, aged eight months.5
In 1910 he was living at North 2nd Avenue, Mendota, LaSalle County, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents Norman and Olive, and was recorded as William B Sackett, a house carpenter, widowed, aged 36 and born in Illinois. Living with him were his children, Richardine, 15, Bernice, 13, and Gladys, aged ten.6
William completed a World War I draft registration card in Aurora on 12 September 1918. He was then aged 43 and was a carpenter, living at 777 Galena, Aurora, Kane County, IllinoisG. His daughter Richardine was his nearest relative.2
