Captain Richard H Sackett, son of Nathaniel Sackett and Sarah Warren, was born in Owego, Tioga County, New York State^G, on 5 December 1797.^1,2,3,4 He died there aged 79 on 15 August 1876^1,5 and was buried at Woodbridge Cemetery, Catatonk, Tioga County^G.^6,3 He married Eunice Holister.^1,5 Eunice was born in Connecticut^G about 1800.⁴ She was probably the Eunice Holister born in Glastonbury, Connecticut, on 13 August 1800 to Roswell and Elizabeth Holister.⁷ She died aged 66 on 29 April 1866 and was buried at Woodbridge Cemetery, Catatonk^G.⁶
     Richard served in the 95th Regiment of the Tioga County Militia as Quartermaster and Adjutant, being first commissioned in 1819.¹
     Richard was listed in the census in 1820, 1830 and 1840 as a householder in Candor, Tioga County^G.^8,9,10
     At the New York Democrat State Convention held in Utica^G on 16 February 1848, Richard was elected as an alternate delegate in one of 34 districts to represent the state at the National Convention.¹¹
     In 1850 Richard was living in Candor^G and was recorded in the census as Richard H Sacket, a farmer, aged 53 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Eunice, 50, and their children, Augusta, 25, Samuel, 20, and Alexander, 16. Richard's farm, comprising 2,700 acres of which 200 acres were improved, was valued at $27,000.^12,13
     In 1855 he was living in Candor^G and was recorded as Richard Sackett, a farmer, aged 57 and born in Tioga County. Living with him were his wife Eunice, 53, their son Alexander, 21, and Richard's niece Helen Clark, 24. Also in the household were a female servant and two male laborers.¹⁴
     In 1860 he was living in Candor^G and was recorded as R H Sackett, a speculator, aged 63. Living with him were his wife Eunice, 60, their four-year-old granddaughter Carrie [Woodford, daughter of their deceased daughter Augusta], and their son Alex, 26. Richard's description of himself as a speculator was accompanied by an assessment of the value of his real estate of $100,000. This compared with an 1850 value of $27,000. The $100,000 was probably an overstatement. His assets ten years later in 1870, by when he had retired, were real estate $10,000 and personal estate $20,000.¹⁵
     In 1865 he was living in Candor^G and was recorded as Richard Sackett, a farmer, aged 67 and born in Westchester County. Living with him were his wife Eunice, 65, and their granddaughter Carrie Woodford, aged nine.¹⁶
     In 1870 he was living in Owego, Tioga County^G, and was recorded as Richard Sackett, a retired merchant, aged 73. His granddaughter Carrie, 14, was living with him.¹⁷
     In 1875 he was living in Owego^G and was recorded as R H Sackett, aged 77. Living with him were his granddaughter Carrie Woodford, 19, and his son Charles, 49, with his wife Mary, and their children, Richard and Harriet. There were also two female servants in the household.¹⁸

Polly Sackett, daughter of Nathaniel Sackett and Sarah Warren, was born in Owego, Tioga County, New York State^G, on 8 January 1799.¹ She died there in infancy on 19 February 1799.¹

Betsey Bush Sackett, daughter of Nathaniel Sackett and Sarah Warren, was born in Owego, Tioga County, New York State^G, on 1 April 1800.¹ She died aged 85 in Candor, Tioga County^G, on 7 October 1885¹ and was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor^G.² She married on 10 September 1818, William Walter Hunt.¹ William was born in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut^G, on 7 September 1796.² He died aged 91 in Candor^G on 12 September 1887 and was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor^G.²
     In 1850 Betsey was living in Candor^G in the household of her husband William, 55, a farmer, and was recorded in the census as Betsey Hunt, aged 50 and born in New York. Living with them were their children, Saraette, 23, Charles, 8, and Laura, aged seven.³

William Henry Sackett, son of Nathaniel Sackett and Sarah Warren, was born in Oswego, Oswego County, New York State^G, on 29 September 1802.^1,2,3 He died aged 75 in Elizabeth, Union County, New Jersey^G, on 30 May 1878^1,4 and was buried at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, Albany County, New York State^G.^2,6 He married first on 1 November 1827, Pluma Woodford, daughter of Ozias Woodford and Thede Case.¹ Pluma was born in New York State^G about 1807.⁷ A death record has not been found but she probably died in the 1860s. William married second in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey^G, on 18 April 1867, Rose "Mary Jane" (Payne) Clark, widow of Robert Clark, daughter of William Chamberlain Payne and Jane S Standish.^1,5 Rose was born in Pennsylvania^G on 8 February 1835.^2,7 After William's death, Rose married third, in Newark^G on 17 May 1879, John B Bieron.⁸ She died aged 80 in Irvington, Essex County^G, on 6 October 1915 and was buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Newark^G.²
     William was listed in the census in 1830 and 1840 as a householder in Candor, Tioga County, New York State^G.^9,10
     William was appointed US Postmaster for Candor^G on 31 January 1835.¹¹
     In 1850 William was living in Candor^G and was recorded in the census as Wm H Sacket, a lumberman, aged 48 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Pluma, 44, and their children, Harriet, 18, Nathaniel, 15, and William, 13.¹²
     In 1860 he was living in Albany, Albany County, New York State^G, and was recorded as William H Sackett, a lumber merchant, aged 58. Living with him were his wife Pluma, 53, and their children, Harriet, 27, and Nathaniel, 25.¹³
     In 1870 he was living in Elizabeth, Union County, New Jersey^G, and was recorded as Wm H Sacket, a coal merchant, aged 60 [67]. Living with him were his second wife Rose, 35, and their daughter Florence, aged one. A seven-year-old William R in the household would have been Rose's son from her first marriage to Robert Clark who had died in 1865.¹⁴
     In 1880 Rose, listed as Mary J Bieron, aged 45, was living at Grove Street, Elizabeth^G, with her third husband John B Bieron, 70, a jeweler. Living with them were Rose's children, Florence Sackett, 12, and Sarah Sackett, 10, by her marriage to William Sackett. Also in the household were Rose's stepchildren, Harriet Sackett, 48, and Nathaniel Sackett, 45, with his wife Jane, 35.¹⁵
     In 1895 Rose was living in Newark, Essex County^G. Her daughters Florence and Lulu and stepdaughter Harriet were living with her.¹⁶
     In 1900 she was living at 223 2nd Street, Newark^G, in the household of her daughter Florence and son-in-law Edwin Westervelt. Rose was a widow, aged 65.¹⁷

Nathaniel Lord Sackett, son of Nathaniel Sackett and Sarah Warren, was born in Catatonk, Tioga County, New York State^G, on 15 October 1804.¹ He died aged 50 in Tioga County^G on 22 July 1855.¹ He married in 1828, Lucy Smith.¹ Lucy was born in New York State^G about 1803.²
     Nathaniel was listed in the census in 1830 and 1840 as a householder in Candor, Tioga County^G.^3,4
     In 1850 Nathaniel was living in Candor^G and was recorded in the census as Nathaniel Sacket, a farmer, aged 45 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Lucy, 41, and their children, Jesse, 21, Mary, 19, John, 17, Asheal, 15, and Francis, aged eleven.⁵
     In 1860 Nathaniel's widow Lucy was living in Candor^G and was recorded in the census as Lucy Sackett, aged 57. Living with her were her children, Mary, 28, and Frank, 22.⁶

Polly Teresa Sackett, daughter of Nathaniel Sackett and Sarah Warren, was born, presumably in Tioga County, New York State^G, on 24 August 1807.¹ She died aged 40 on 2 August 1848.¹ She married James Clark.¹

John James Sackett, son of Nathaniel Sackett and Sarah Warren, was born in Catatonk, Tioga County, New York State^G, on 10 November 1810.^1,2 He died in Candor, Tioga County^G, on 9 December 1879¹ and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Owego, Tioga County^G. He married first in New York State^G about 1831, Adelaide Stanley. Adelaide was born on 11 July 1813.³ She died aged 21 in Candor^G on 21 July 1834 and was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor^G.^4,5 He married second on 6 September 1836, Fanny Benton Talcott, daughter of George Lord Talcott and Sarah McQuigg.¹ Fanny was born in Owego^G on 14 February 1814.⁴ She died there aged 49 on 7 December 1863 and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Owego^G.⁴
     John was appointed US Postmaster for Candor^G on 5 December 1839.⁶
     In 1850 John was living in Candor^G and was recorded in the census as John J Sacket, a farmer, aged 40 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Fany, 36, John's daughter Adelaide, 16, by his first marriage, and John and Fanny's children, Albert, 12, Fanny, 9, and John, aged four.⁷
     In 1860 he was living in Candor^G and was recorded as J J Sackett, aged 48. Living with him were his wife Fanny, and their children, Albert, 22, Fanny, 18, John, 14, and Fred, aged eight.⁸
     In 1870 he was living in Candor^G and was recorded as John J Sackett, a retired merchant, aged 59. Living with him were his children, Fanny, 28, and Frederick, 18.⁹

Sarah Warren Sackett, daughter of Nathaniel Sackett and Sarah Warren, was born in New York State^G on 14 April 1812.^1,2 She died aged 73 in Candor, Tioga County, New York State^G, on 9 March 1886.^1,3 She married on 11 February 1836, probably in Tioga County^G, Ira Keeler.¹
     In 1860 Sarah was living in Candor, Tioga County, New York State^G, in the household of her husband Ira, 50, a candy pedler, and was recorded in the census as Sarah Keeler, aged 48 and born in New York. Living with them were their children, Augusta, 20, George, 18, Sarah, 16, Mary, 12, Rosa, 10, and Laura, aged seven.⁴
     In 1870 she was living in Candor^G in the household of her husband Ira, 59, a commercial traveller, and was recorded as Sarah Keeler, aged 58. Living with them were their children, Sarah Jr, 26, Mary, 22, Rose, 20, and Laura, 17.⁵

Susan Mead Sackett, daughter of Nathaniel Sackett and Sarah Warren, was born in New York State^G on 6 February 1815.^1,2 She died aged 59 in Ottawa, LaSalle County, Illinois^G, on 4 May 1874.¹ She married Elias Richardson.¹ Elias was born in Massachusetts^G in 1802.^1,2 He died aged about 90 in 1892.¹
     In 1850 Susan was living in Newark, Tioga County, New York State^G, in the household of her husband Elias, 47, a farmer, and was recorded in the census as Susan Richardson, aged 35 and born in New York. Living with them were their children, Margaret, 9, William, 6, and Adel, aged ten months.³
     In 1860 she was living in Ottawa, LaSalle County, Illinois^G, in the household of her husband Elias, 57, a tanner, and was recorded as Susan M Richardson, aged 45. Living with them were their children, William, 15, and Adell, aged eleven.⁴
     In 1870 she was living in Ottawa^G in the household of her husband Elias, 67, a grain trader, and was recorded as Susan Richardson, aged 55. Living with them were their children, William, 25, and Adella, 20.⁵

Sarah Sands Sackett, daughter of Joseph Sackett and Anna Augusta Downing, was born say 1829.¹ She died in New York City^G on 12 November 1877.^2,3 She married in New York City^G on 2 January 1862, Adrian C Brooks.⁴

Josephine Sackett, daughter of Joseph Sackett and Anna Augusta Downing, was born probably in New York State^G say 1830.¹ She died in 30 Clinton Place, 8th Street, Brooklyn, New York City, New York State^G, on 15 February 1863.^2,3 She was unmarried.
