Howard Grove Sackett, son of Edward Everett Sackett and Edythe Ella Grove, was born in Buffalo, Erie County, New York StateG, on 2 October 1904.1 He died aged 61 in Utica, Oneida County, New York StateG, on 25 January 19662,3 and was buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, Fulton County, New York StateG.4 He married Margaret Wood, daughter of Jeremiah Wood and Ellen Dockstader. Margaret was born in Gloversville, Fulton County, New York StateG, on 10 November 1908.5 She died aged 92 in Albany, Albany County, New York StateG, on 30 June 2001 and was buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery, GloversvilleG.4
     In 1910 Howard was living in Newport, Washington County, MinnesotaG, in the household of his parents Edward and Ella, and was recorded in the census as Howard Sackett, aged five and born in New York.6
     In 1920 he was living at Snelling Avenue, St Paul, Ramsey County, MinnesotaG, in the household of his parents Edward and Ella, and was recorded as Howard G Sackett, aged 15.7
     In 1940 he was living at 15 Beechwood Avenue, Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York StateG, and was recorded as Howard G Sackett, educational administrator, city schools, aged 34. Living with him were his wife Margaret, 30, and their children, Ellen, 4, Martha, 3, and John, aged one.8
     Howard completed a World War II draft registration card on 14 February 1942. He was aged 37 and was employed by the Board of Education in Poughkeepsie. He was living at 15 North Randolph Avenue, PoughkeepsieG, with his wife Margaret.9

Rites Conducted For Mr. Sackett
     Funeral services were conducted Friday in Lyons Falls, Lewis County, for Howard G. Sackett, 62. a former principal of the former Morse Grade School, city. Mr. Sackett died Tuesday.
     At the time of his death, he was a district superintendent of Lewis County Schools. Mr. Sackett had been active in education for retarded children and agricultural educational services.
     A former principal of Morse Grade School, Mr. Sackett resigned from the post in June, 1946, to become purchasing agent at the James L. Taylor Manufacturing Co., city. He terminated his connection with the industrial firm in 1949 and since then has been working for the State Department of Education. He had been service education supervisor of the Bureau of Community Development Division of Elementary Education, of the state department.
     While living in Poughkeepsie, Mr. and Mrs. Sackett made their home at 15 N. Randolph Ave. They resided in Poughkeepsie for nine years.
     Mr. Sackett is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Wood, three daughters, Mrs. Ellen Post, Lowville: Mrs. Martha Fowler. Casco, Wis., and Miss Ann M. Sackett, at home; and a son John, Central Square.

Sackett-Grove.
At the home of the bride's brother, No. 285 West Ferry street, the marriage of Miss Edythe Ella Grove to Mr. Edward Everett Sackett was celebrated Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock. Rev. Mr. C. A. Lawrence of Lima, N. Y., performed the ceremony. The rooms were decorated with smilax and autumn leaves. The bride wore white Swiss over satin and carried a bouquet of white bride roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Eleanore Anna Anderson of Lima and Miss Blanche Louise Parkinson of Buffalo were the bridesmaids, the former attired in pink organdie and Miss Parkinson in blue organdie over white taffeta. Both carried bouquets of pink roses. Miss Edna Grove as flower girl preceded the bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Robert J. Grove. Mr. Willis H. Holbrook was the groomsman. A supper of 50 covers followed the ceremony. Among the guests were Mrs. A. Anderson and daughter of Lima, N. Y., Mr. R. B. Sackett of Rochester, father of the groom, Mr. Benjamin of Rochester and Mr. George Grove of Toronto. After the wedding journey Mr. and Mrs. Sackett will reside at No. 800 Lexington avenue. At home after Nov. 15.
