Thomas Watson, tinsmith, of Colchester, Essex, was born in St Martin's, ColchesterG, about 1805.1 His parents have not been identified. He died in Hampstead, LondonG, in 1882.2 He married about 1826, Rebecca ___.3
In 1841 Thomas was living at Maidenburgh Street, St Nicholas, ColchesterG, and was recorded in the census as Thomas Watson, a white smith, aged 35 [rounded] and born in Essex. Living with him were his wife Rebecca, 35, and their children, Thomas, 13, William, 5, Robert, 3, Elizabeth, 11, Frances, 9, Amelia, 7, and Henrietta, aged six months.4
In 1851 he was living at Middle Mill Road, All Saints, Colchester, EssexG, and was recorded as Thomas Watson, a white smith, head of household, married, aged 45 and born in Colchester. Living with him were his wife Rebecca, 49, and their children, Elizabeth, 20, Amelia, 16, William, 14, Robert, 12, and Joseph, aged eight.5
