Mary Sackett, daughter of Ebenezer Sackett and Cynthia Louisa Thompson, was born in Michigan^G about 1852.¹
     In 1860 Mary was living in Bowne, Kent County, Michigan^G, in the household of her parents Ebenezer and Louisa, and was recorded in the census as Mary Sacket, aged eight and born in Michigan.²
     In 1870 she was living in Talkington, Sangamon County, Illinois^G, in the household of her parents Ebenezer and Louisa, and was recorded as Mary Sackett, aged 18.³ Also in the household was six-month-old Frederick Sackett, later described in the 1880 census as Mary's mother Louise's grandson. This would imply that Frederick was the son of either Mary or her brother Homer, their other siblings being too young. However the 1880 census also states that Frederick's mother was born in Connecticut, whereas other evidence indicates that Mary and her siblings were born in Michigan. This would leave Homer as a possible parent of Frederick.

Homer Sackett, son of Ebenezer Sackett and Cynthia Louisa Thompson, was born in Michigan^G about 1853.^1,2 He died in Waverly, Morgan County, Illinois^G, in 1878.²

     In 1870 he was living in Talkington, Sangamon County, Illinois^G, in the household of his parents Ebenezer and Louisa, and was recorded as Homer Sackett, a laborer, aged 17.³ Also in the household was six-month-old Frederick Sackett, later described in the 1880 census as Homer's mother Louise's grandson. This would imply that Frederick was the son of either Homer or his sister Mary, their other siblings being too young. Ida Marinda Sackett, daughter of Ebenezer Sackett and Cynthia Louisa Thompson, was born in Michigan^G on 1 April 1856.¹ She died aged 58 in Waverly, Morgan County, Illinois^G, on 21 July 1914 and was buried at Waverly East Cemetery, Waverly^G.¹

     In 1880 she was living in Waverly, Morgan County, Illinois^G, in the household of her widowed mother Louisa, and was recorded as Ida M Sackett, a teacher, single, aged 24.⁴

     In 1860 Norman was living in Bowne, Kent County, Michigan^G, in the household of his parents Ebenezer and Louisa, and was recorded in the census as Norman Sacket, aged one and born in Michigan.²
     In 1870 he was living in Talkington, Sangamon County, Illinois^G, in the household of his parents Ebenezer and Louisa, and was recorded as Norman Sackett, aged eleven.³
     In 1880 he was living in Waverly, Morgan County, Illinois^G, in the household of his widowed mother Louisa, and was recorded as Norman A Sackett, a laborer, single, aged 21.⁴

Frederick Wilbert Sackett, possibly a son of Homer Sackett, was born in Illinois^G about 1870.¹ He died aged about 77 in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Louisiana^G, on 2 March 1947² and was buried at Baton Rouge, New Orleans^G, on 3 March 1947.² He married in Girard, Crawford County, Kansas^G, on 5 November 1890, Ellen Alphonsine Swain.^3,4
     In 1870 Frederick was living in Talkington, Sangamon County, Illinois^G, and was recorded in the census as Frederick, aged six months and born in Illinois, in the household of Ebenezer Sackett.⁵
     In 1880 he was living at Waverly, Morgan County, Illinois^G, and was recorded as Frederic W Sackett, aged ten and born in Illinois, grandson of C Louisa Sackett.⁶
     Note: The link to Homer Sackett is tentative only. The 1880 census records Frederick W Sackett as the grandson of Louisa Sackett. Louisa's son Homer could possibly have been Frederick's father.
