Charles Edgar Sackett, son of Charles Edgar Sackett and Elizabeth J "Lila" Wilson, was born in Port Chester, Westchester County, New York StateG, on 22 February 1913.1,2 He died aged 65 in Miami, Miami-Dade County, FloridaG, on 19 February 1979.3,4,5 He married in Spring City, Chester County, PennsylvaniaG, in June 1951, Flora (Levengood) Speaker, daughter of Daniel N Levengood and Mary E Wood.6 Flora was born on 28 October 1908.7 She died aged 78 in PennsylvaniaG in February 1987.8
     In 1920 Charles was living at Hall Street, Phoenixville, Chester County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Charles and Eliza, and was recorded in the census as Charles E Sackett, aged six and born in New York.9
     In 1930 he was living at Schuylkill Road, East Vincent, Chester CountyG, in the household of his parents Charles and Eliza, and was recorded as Charles E Sackett, a helper in a knitting mill, aged 17.10
     Charles completed a World War II draft registration card on 16 October 1940. He was aged 27 and was employed by Robert Bard. He was living at 162 Hall Street, Spring CityG, with his mother Eliza.11
     In 1940 he was living at Hall Street, Spring, Chester CountyG, in the household of his parents Charles and Elizabeth, and was recorded as Edgar C Sackett, a laborer in an automobile factory, aged 27.12
     Charles served in the US Army during the Second World War, enlisting on 2 April 1942 at Fort George G Meade, Maryland, and being discharged on 13 February 1946. He served overseas from 27 June 1945 to 5 February 1946.3,13,14
     In 1950 he was living at 162 Hall StreetG in the household of his parents Charles and Eliza, and was recorded as Charles Sackett Jr, a heat treat helper in an iron factory, single, aged 37.15

A quiet wedding took place at 2:15 o'clock in Brownback's Evangelical and Reformed church, Ridge road, when Flora Speaker and Charles Sackett, both of Spring City, were united in marriage. The Rev. Lloyd J. Sandt performed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Levengood, of Spring City, attended the couple.
