Ione McCrea, daughter of William C McCrea and Lucy L Sackett, was born in Grove, Adair County, IowaG, on 29 October 1898.1 She died aged 65 in Los Angeles County, CaliforniaG, on 23 December 1963.2 She married in about 1922, George A Nickelson.3 George was born in MissouriG in about 1895.3
In 1900 Ione was living in Grove, Adair County, IowaG, in the household of her parents William and Lucy, and was recorded in the census as Ionia McCrea, aged one and born in Iowa.4
In 1910 Ione was living at East Stella Street, Greenfield, Adair County, IowaG, in the household of her widowed mother Lucy, and was recorded in the census as Iona M McCrea, aged eleven.5
In 1920 she was living at South Marguerita Avenue, Alhambra, Los Angeles County, CaliforniaG, in the household of her mother Lucy and stepfather Ernest Funke, and was recorded as Iona McCrea, a laborer in a felt factory, aged 21.6
In 1930 she was living at North Marengo Avenue, Alhambra, Los Angeles County, CaliforniaG, in the household of her husband George A Nickelson, 35, a barber, and was recorded as Ione M Nickelson, aged 31. They rented their home. Living with them were their daughter Arlene, aged seven, and George's sister Minnie.7
