Paul Frank Sackett, son of Frank Hutchins Sackett and Margaret Lois McNely, was born in Weeping Water, Cass County, NebraskaG, on 8 December 1895.1,2,3 He died aged 68 in Spartanburg, South CarolinaG, on 24 October 19644,5 and was buried at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, SpartanburgG.1,6 He married in Fulton County, GeorgiaG, on 4 September 1919, Elise M Meyer, daughter of Eugene R Meyer.7 Elise was born in Loganville, Walton County, GeorgiaG, on 1 June 1904.1,8 She died in SpartanburgG on 29 April 19829 and was buried at Greenlawn Memorial GardensG.1,6
In 1900 Paul was living at Barnett Street, Weeping Water, Cass County, NebraskaG, in the household of his parents Frank and Margaret, and was recorded in the census as Paul F Sackett, aged four and born in Nebraska.10
In 1910 he was living in TallmadgeG in the household of his parents Frank and Margaret, and was recorded as Paul F Sackett, aged 14.11
Paul completed a World War I draft registration card on 5 June 1917. He was aged 21 and was a salesman for H S Rivitz Company. He was living at 540 East Buchtel, Akron, Summit County, OhioG, and was unmarried.12 He subsequently served in the US Army from 7 November 1917 to 13 March 1919. After a few months in the 332nd Infantry Regiment, he was employed in the Mechanical Repair Shop Unit at El Paso, Texas, from January 1918 until discharge. He was promoted Sergeant First Class on 17 September 1918.13
In 1930 he was living at Pettigru Street, Greenville, South CarolinaG, and was recorded as Paul F Sackett, manager of a plumbing supplies business, head of household, aged 34. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Elise, 25, and their children, Margaret, 9, Julianne, 7, and Jean, aged two. There was also a female servant in the household.14

Spartanburg — Paul F. Sackett, 68, of 163 Overbrook Circle, died at a local hospital late Saturday night after a long illness.
A native of Talmadge, Ohio, he was a son of the late Frank H. and Margaret McNeely Sackett. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a Mason, and a Kiwanian.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Elise Meyer Sackett; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Engley of Spartanburg, Mrs. Julianne Scruggs of Spartanburg, and Mrs. Jean Warren of Winter Park, Fla; two sisters, Mrs. Stanley Rothrock and Mrs. Clair Harrah, of Cuyahoga, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church by Dr. Fred Poag. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The body is at J. F. Floyd Mortuary and will be placed in the church Tuesday at 3 p.m.
