In 1910 Edna was living at Lagon Avenue, Danville, Vermilion County, IllinoisG, in the household of her parents Joseph and Idella, and was recorded in the census as Edna C Sackett, aged eleven.4
In 1920 she was living at Oak Street, DanvilleG, in the household of her parents Joseph and Idella, and was recorded as Edna Sackett, a language teacher, aged 20.5
Edna was listed in the Danville City Directory in 1922 when she was a student, and in 1923 as a teacher.6
In 1930 she was living in Harvey, Cook County, IllinoisG, and was recorded as Edna S Thompson, aged 31. She was living with her husband Albert, 31, and their three-year-old daughter Laura in the household of Elmer and Mary Nesselrodt.7
Albert and Edna, with their daughter Laura, visited France in 1930, arriving back in the port of Quebec, Canada, on 22 August 1930. They visited France again in 1938, now also with their son Richard. The family arrived back in New York from Cherbourg on the SS Deutschland on 2 September 1938.8,9,10
