Harris Sacofsky, son of Louis Sacofsky and Rose/Florence Frankel, was born in RussiaG in about 1870.1 He changed his name to Harris Sackett after immigrating to the United States. He died aged 43 on 30 March 1914 and was buried at the Jewish Cemetery (Agudas Achim), Fairfield, ConnecticutG.2,3 He married in RussiaG in about 1892, Irene ___, daughter of Samuel ___.4 Irene was born in RussiaG in about 1871.4 She died aged about 77 in BridgeportG on 18 October 1948 and was buried at the Jewish Cemetery (Agudas Achim), FairfieldG.5
     In 1905 Harris was living at Christopher Avenue, Brooklyn, New York CityG, and was recorded in the census as Harris Sacofsky, a tailor, head of household, aged 34 and born in Russia. He had immigrated to the United States ten years earlier and was a US citizen. Living with him were his wife Ida (assumed to be the same as Irene), 33, and their children, Yetta, 9, Max, 5, and Hattie, aged two months.6
     Harris removed to Bridgeport, Connecticut, by 1907 when he was listed in the Bridgeport City Directory as a tailor. In 1908 he was a partner in the firm of Sackett Bros (Myer, Harry, Harris and Samuel Sacofsky), tailors, trading at 32 P O Arcade and 1986 Main, BridgeportG. Harris was living with his parents at 56 Highland Avenue. In 1910 he was listed under Empire Cloak and Suit Company at 32 P O Arcade, and was living at 206 Beardsley.7
     In 1910 Harris was living at Beardsley Street, Bridgeport, Fairfield County, ConnecticutG, and was recorded in the census as Harris Sackett, a tailor, head of household, aged 38, immigrated 1897, naturalized. Living with him were his wife Irene, 38, and their children, Henrietta, 14, Maxwell, 10, and Helen, aged five.8
     In 1913 Sackett Brothers, clothing manufacturers and tailors, now comprising Harris, Harry, and Samuel, had premises at 983 State, BridgeportG. Harris was living at 44 Highland Avenue with his brothers Harry and Samuel.9
     Harris's widow Irene was listed in the Bridgeport City Directory from 1914.9
     In 1920 Harris's widow Irene was living at French Street, Bridgeport, Fairfield County, ConnecticutG, and was recorded in the census as Irene Sackett, head of household, a widow aged 48. She rented her home. Living with her were her children, Max, 20, and Helen, aged 14. Irene's married daughter Henrietta Postol was living next door.10
     In 1930 she was living at Garfield Avenue, BridgeportG, and was recorded as Irene Sackett, head of household, aged 59. Her daughter Henrietta was living next door with her family.11
     In 1932 Irene was living at 270 Garfield Avenue, BridgeportG.9
     In 1940 she was living at Capital Avenue, BridgeportG, in the household of her daughter Henrietta and son-in-law Norman Postol and was recorded as Irene Sackett, a widow aged 66.12
     In 1941–1949 Irene was living at 1175 Capitol Avenue, BridgeportG.9
