Barbara Maree Sackett, daughter of Calvin Burnett Sackett and Gertrude M Hornbake, was born in Hempstead, Nassau County, New York StateG, on 20 June 1931.1 She died aged 90 in Smithfield, Isle of Wight County, VirginiaG, on 4 February 2022.2 She married in HempsteadG on 15 August 1953, Martin Anthony Principe, son of Antonio Carmen "Anthony" Principe and Annie ___.3 They divorced at Virginia BeachG on 17 January 1986.4 Martin was born in New York StateG on 4 May 1928.5 He served in the US Army in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He died aged 88 at Virginia BeachG on 12 August 2016 and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, VirginiaG.6
In 1940 Barbara was living at Benedict Place, Hempstead, Nassau County, New York StateG, in the household of her parents Calvin and Gertrude, and was recorded in the census as Barbara Sackett, aged eight and born in New York.7
Barbara travelled to Germany in 1950, returning from Bremerhaven, GermanyG, to New York on 27 July 1950 on the US Navy troopship General Maurice Rose.8
