Mark Sackett, railroad engineer, son of Mark Sackett and Jennie Remington, was born in Geneva, Ashtabula County, OhioG, on 11 May 1873.1 He died aged 48 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, OhioG, on 23 February 1922 and was buried at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, ClevelandG, on 25 February 1922.2 He married at Lorain, OhioG, on 16 October 1895, Estelle Vilera Hamlin, daughter of Lewis Marion Hamlin and Samantha Josephine (?) Moses. Estelle was born in Ridgeville, Warren County, OhioG, on 12 November 1879.3
     Mark was listed in the Cleveland City Directory in 1898 as a conductor.4 He was listed from 1905 onwards as an engineer.5
     In 1910 Mark was living at Kinsman Road, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, OhioG, and was recorded in the census as Mark Sackett Jr, a steam railroad engineer, head of household, aged 36. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Estelle, 32, and their sons, Clyde, 13, and Theodore, aged nine.6
     Mark registered for the World War I draft on 12 September 1918. He was then aged 45 and was living at 3100 Dover Avenue, ClevelandG, with his wife Estella. He was employed as a locomotive engineer.7
     In 1920 he was living at Hilgert Drive, ClevelandG, and was recorded as Mark Sackett, a railroad engineer, married, aged 42. His son Clyde, 23, was living with him. They were roomers in the household of Jacob Marz, a railroad conductor.8 In 1920 Estelle was living at Dover Avenue, ClevelandG, and was recorded as Estell Sackett, head of household, aged 42. Her son Theodore, 19, was living with her.9
     In 1921 Mark was living at 9605 Hilgert Drive, ClevelandG. Estelle was living at 3100 Dover Avenue, Cleveland. Following Mark's death in 1922, Estelle lived with their sons Clyde and Theodore at 3324 Marvin Avenue, Cleveland.10
