Karl Edward Sackett, son of Charles M Sackett and Minnie M Maloney, was born in CaliforniaG on 18 December 1903.1 He died aged 66 in Los Angeles, CaliforniaG, on 2 January 19702,3 and was buried at Joshua Memorial Park, Lancaster, Los Angeles CountyG.4 He married in about 1923, Eleanor Mae Rogers. Eleanor was born in PennsylvaniaG in about 1899.5,6
In 1910 Karl was living at 552 South Gless Street, Los Angeles, CaliforniaG, in the household of his parents Charles and Minnie, and was recorded in the census as Carl Sackett, aged six and born in California.7
In 1920 he was living at South Gless Street, Los AngelesG, in the household of his mother Minnie and stepfather William Givens, and was recorded as Carl Sackett, aged 16.8
In 1930 he was living at McDonnell Avenue, Montebello, Los Angeles County, CaliforniaG, and was recorded as Carl E Sackett, a truck driver, head of household, aged 27. Living with him were his wife Eleanor, 30, and their children, Arthur, 10, Edna, 7, and Charles, aged five.9
Karl enlisted in the US Army in Los Angeles, CaliforniaG, on 29 July 1942 and served in the Second World War as a technician 5th grade.10
