Frederick A Sackett, son of Edward Sackett and Mary Charlotte Janes, was born in Cabotville, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, in about 1843.1,2 He died aged 89 in Andover, Tolland County, ConnecticutG, on 27 July 1932. He was buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Hartford County, ConnecticutG.2 He married in Webster, Worcester County, MassachusettsG, on 2 June 1875, Jane M Chase, daughter of Elisha Chase and Emeline ___.3 Jane was born in Holden, Worcester County, MassachusettsG, in about 1847.4
In 1850 Frederick was living in South Hadley, Hampshire County, MassachusettsG, in the household of his parents Edward and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Fredrick Sacket, aged 1 [actually about 7] and born in Massachusetts.5
In 1860 he was living in Hartford, ConnecticutG, in the household of his parents Edward and Mary, and was recorded as Frederick Sacket, a clerk, aged 17.6
In 1870 he was living in HartfordG in the household of his parents Edward and Mary, and was recorded as Frederick A Sackett, a merchant, aged 26.7
In 1880 he was living in Bloomfield, Hartford County, ConnecticutG, in the household of his parents Edward and Mary, and was recorded as Frederick Sackett, aged 35.8
Frederick was elected town clerk of Andover, Tolland County, ConnecticutG, in October 1889. He was town clerk there, listed as a Democrat, in October 1891 when the town voted to remain "no license", thus supporting the temperance movement by continuing to ban the sale of alcohol.9,10

Andover, July 27.—(Special.)—Frederick A. Sacket, 89, town clerk of Andover for 35 years until his retirement in 1927, died at the home of Mrs. George T. Platt in Andover Wednesday. He was born in Cabotsville, Mass., a son of Edward and Mary C. (Janes) Sackett. He leaves his wife and two step-daughters, Mrs. Verna Rose, of Columbia and Mrs. Bertha Combs, of West Hartford. He had lived in Andover since 1888 and operated a general store there until 1927, when he sold the business to the late Edward Standish. He was a Democrat and besides being town clerk held other town offices at various times. Funeral services will be held at the Andover Congregational Church, Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. Wallace I. Woodin will officiate. Burial will take place in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
