James Harry Sackett, son of William B Sackett and Marie M Menchaca, was born in TexasG on 4 September 1921.1 He died aged 77 on 21 September 19981,2 and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, VirginiaG.1,3 He married in Marylebone, LondonG, in 1944, Beatrice Elizabeth Jefcoate, daughter of Fred Jefcoate and Esther ___.4 Beatrice was born in London, EnglandG, on 23 June 1924.1 She died aged 89 on 24 March 20145 and was buried at Arlington National CemeteryG.1
     In 1930 James was living at Fort Clark, Kinney County, TexasG, in the household of his parents William and Marie, and was recorded in the census as James Sackett, aged eight and born in Texas.6
     James was a career soldier. He enlisted in the US Army in 1940 and saw service in the Second World War. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1948, rising to the rank of major and serving until 1963, including service in the Korean War.1,7,8
