Frederick Hogbin Adams, son of Sackett Adams and Mary Hogbin, was born in Monkton, KentG, in 18371 and baptized there on 28 May 1837.2 He died there aged 363 and was buried at St Mary Magdalene Church, MonktonG, on 5 June 1873.4 He married at St Mary Magdalene Church, Monkton, KentG, on 27 February 1856, Emma Stark, daughter of Edward Stark and Thomasin Brett.5,6,7,8
In 1851 Frederick was living in MonktonG in the household of his parents Sackett and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Frederick Adams, aged 13 and born in Monkton.9
In 1861 he was living in Sarre, KentG, and was recorded as Frederick H Adams, blacksmith and grocer, head of household, married, aged 24 and born in Monkton. Living with him were his wife Emma, 23, and their children, Sackett, 4, Frederick, 2, and Frank, aged one. Also in the household was a 13-year-old female house servant.10
In 1871 he was living at the New Inn, Monkton Street, MonktonG, and was recorded as Frederick H Adams, a publican, head of household, married, aged 33 and born in Monkton. Living with him were his wife Emma, 33, and their children, Sackett, 14, Frederick, 12, Frank, 11, Herbert, 9, Edward, 7, Emma, 5, Alfred, 3, and Arthur, aged one. Also in the household was a female domestic servant.11
In 1881 Frederick's widow Emma was living at the New Inn, Main Road, MonktonG, and was recorded in the census as Emma Adams, licensed victualler, head of household, a widow aged 43 and born in Sarre. Living with her were her children, Sackett, 24, Emma, 15, Alfred, 13, Arthur, 11, and Ellen, aged nine.12
In 1851 Frederick was living in MonktonG in the household of his parents Sackett and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Frederick Adams, aged 13 and born in Monkton.9
