Stanley Goozee Sackett, son of Harry Sackett and Charlotte Goozee, was born in Shoreditch, LondonG, on 11 January 19081 and baptized at St John, Hoxton, Hackney, LondonG, on 3 May 1908.2 He died aged 63 in Weston-super-Mare, SomersetG, on 10 December 19713 and was buried at St Mary's Churchyard, Portbury, SomersetG.4 He married in Billericay, EssexG, in 1933, Muriel Eva Blackburn, daughter of John William Blackburn and Kate Chatterton.5,6 Muriel was born in Ipswich, SuffolkG, on 10 July 1908.7 She died aged 75 in Weston-super-MareG on 2 November 19838,9 and was buried at St Mary's Churchyard, PortburyG.4
In 1911 Stanley was living at 137 Hoxton Street, Hoxton, LondonG, in the household of his parents Harry and Charlotte, and was recorded in the census as Stanley Goozee Sackett, aged three and born in Shoreditch.10
In 1921 he was living at Elmer, Pinner Road, Harrow, MiddlesexG, in the household of his parents Harry and Charlotte, and was recorded as Stanley Goozee Sackett, aged 13.11
As a young man, Stanley was a merchant seaman, serving for 18 months from 1926 to 1928 as an apprentice on ships on a route from Liverpool, England, to Brazil and New York. He was listed as third officer on a crew list of a ship sailing from Immingham, England, to New York in 1941/42, but the entry was struck through, leaving a doubt that he made the journey.12,13,14,15,16
At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Stanley was an insurance agent, living at 145 Elm Drive, Harrow, MiddlesexG, with his wife Muriel. Stanley's mother Charlotte was living with them.17
Stanley proved his mother Charlotte's will on 17 November 1943. Her estate was valued at £303.18
Stanley left a will which was proved on 28 July 1971. His estate was valued at £17,871.19
Muriel left a will which was proved in Oxford on 1 March 1984. Her last address was Little Orchard, Portbury, BristolG, and her estate was valued at £56,000.20
