Samuel J Sackett, son of Lemuel Sackett and Lydia Chapman, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 17 April 1850.1 He died there aged 13 on 20 February 18642 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG.
     In 1850 Samuel was living in WestfieldG in the household of his parents Lemuel and Lydia, and was recorded in the census as Samuel Sacket, aged four months and born in Massachusetts.3
     In 1860 he was living in WestfieldG in the household of his uncle Roland Sacket, a whip maker, and was recorded as Samuel J Sacket, aged ten.4
