Thomas Sackett, son of John Jeremiah William Sackett and Anne Ward, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, in about 18671,2 and died aged 45 in Brighton, SussexG, in 1913.3 He married in St Peter's Church, Fulham, LondonG, on 25 December 1895, Annie Ward, daughter of Thomas Walter Ward.4,5,6 She was born in Brackley, NorthamptonshireG, on 28 March 1870.2,7
In 1871 Thomas was living at 6 Montague Place, Brighton, SussexG, in the household of his parents John and Annie, and was recorded in the census as Thomas Sackett, a scholar, aged four and born in Ramsgate.8
In 1881 he was living at 18 Kramer Mews, London, MiddlesexG, in the household of his parents John and Ann, and was recorded as Thomas Sackett, aged 13 and born in Ramsgate.9
In 1901 he was living at 114 Sackville Road, Hove, SussexG, and was recorded as Thomas Sackett, a coachman domestic, head of household, married, aged 32, and born in Ramsgate, Kent. Living with him was his wife Annie, aged 31, and born in Northamptonshire. Also in the household were two male boarders.10
In 1911 he was living at 36 Landseer Road, HoveG, and was recorded as Thomas Sackett, a motor bus driver for the Brighton & Hove United Omnibus Company, head of household, aged 43 and born in Ramsgate. Living with him were his wife Annie, 42, and their daughter Dorothy, aged six.11
In 1921 Thomas's widow Annie was living at 36 Landseer Road, HoveG, and was recorded in the census as Annie Sackett, a domestic servant in private service, head of household, a widow, aged 51. Her daughter Dorothy, 17, also a domestic servant, was living with her.12
At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Thomas's widow Annie was living at 36 Landseer Road, Hove, SussexG, with their daughter Dorothy and son-in-law Herbert.13
