John Sackett, son of Joseph Sackett and Eleanor LaRue, was born in Bucks County, PennsylvaniaG, in about 1802.1,2 He died there aged 48 on 10 March 1851 and was buried at the Presbyterian Cemetery, Newtown, Bucks CountyG.3,4 He married in Hartsville, Bucks CountyG, on 25 April 1822, Mary McEaheron.5 Mary was born in PennsylvaniaG in about 1803.6,7 She died aged 60 in Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaG, on 1 April 1863.8
     John was listed in the 1830 census as a householder in Bensalem, Bucks CountyG.9 He was taxed there in 1832 and 1834 on 46 acres of land. In 1834 he had two horses and four cattle.10
     John was in Buckingham, Bucks CountyG, by 1837, owner of a 100-acre farm. He had two horses and two cattle.11 He was listed there in the census in 1840.12
     In 1850 he was living in BuckinghamG and was recorded as John Sackett, a farmer, aged 47 and born in Pennsylvania. Living with him were his wife Mary, 46, and their children, Joseph, 23, George, 13, and Silas, aged ten.13
     After John's death in 1851, the occupier of the farm in BuckinghamG was named in tax records as his son Joseph.14
