Myrl DeForest Gibbs, son of George DeForest Gibbs and Ida Elizabeth Sackett, was born in New Lyme, Ashtabula County, OhioG, on 1 May 1888.1,2,3,4 He married in Lenox, Ashtabula County, OhioG, on 4 January 1914, Freda Amber Ritter.3 Freda was born in LenoxG on 6 November 1886.3
     In 1900 Myrl was living in New Lyme, OhioG, in the household of his parents DeForest and Ida, and was recorded in the census as Merle D Gibbs, at school, aged twelve and born in Ohio.5
     In 1910 he was living in New LymeG in the household of his father George and stepmother Densie, and was recorded as Myrl D Gibbs, a college student, aged 21.6
