Sarah Emily Sackett, daughter of John Fegen Sackett and Sarah Johnson Taylor, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, in 1867.1,2 She died aged 77 in Kensington, LondonG, in 1944.3 She married at St James, Bethnal Green, MiddlesexG, on 17 August 1886, Francis William Vertue, son of George Vertue.4 Francis was born in Woolwich, LondonG, in about 18652 and died aged 76 in St Pancras, LondonG, in 1941.5
     In 1881 Sarah was living at Ada Cottage, Farley Place, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of her parents John and Sarah, and was recorded in the census as Sarah E Sackett, aged 14 and born in Ramsgate.6
     In 1911 she was living at 27 Henry Street, St John's Wood, LondonG, in the household of her husband Francis, 46, blind, a chair caner, and was recorded as Sarah Emily Vertue, a nurse, aged 44. Living with them were their sons, George, 20, and Charley, aged five. Also in the household was a male lodger.7
