Edward Arthur Sackett, merchant seaman, son of Edward Samuel Richard Sackett and Doris Lilian Pidduck, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, on 8 June 1925.1,2 He died aged 65 in Birmingham, WarwickshireG, in May 1991.3 He married in RamsgateG on 22 June 1946, Patricia Nance Alexander, daughter of Roland G Alexander and Ada A Keel.4,5,6 Patricia was born in ThanetG in 1926.7
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Edward was living at 112 Margate Road, Ramsgate, KentG, where he was an errand boy in the Ray family's grocery business.8
