Edward Samuel Richard Sackett, son of Edward Arthur Sackett and Isabella Elizabeth Gibbs, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, on 4 April 19021,2,3 and baptized at St Paul's Church, RamsgateG, on 10 June 1903.4 He died aged 79 in Thanet, KentG, in 1982.5 He married at St Luke's Church, RamsgateG, on 26 December 1921, Doris Lilian Pidduck, daughter of ___ Pidduck and ___ Fuller.6,7,8 Doris was born in Thanet, KentG, on 8 September 19039,3 and died there aged about 76 in 1980.10
     In 1911 Edward was living at Ada Cottage, Farley Place, RamsgateG, in the household of his parents Edward and Isabella, and was recorded in the census as Edward Samuel Richard Sackett, aged nine and born in Ramsgate.11
     In 1921 he was living at 10 Judith Villas, Clements Road, St Lawrence in ThanetG, in the household of his mother Isabella and stepfather Alfred Brown, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, a farm labourer, aged 19.12
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Edward and Doris were living at 3 Edith Cottages, RamsgateG. Edward was a general labourer. Their daughter Rose was living with them.13
