Harold Gilbert Sackett, son of Gilbert "Bertie" Sackett and Mabel Agnes Dawson, was born in Thanet, KentG, on 29 June 1918.1,2 He died aged 81 in Aylesbury, BuckinghamshireG, on 27 November 1999.1,3 He married at Maidstone, KentG, in 1941, Edna Amies.4,5 Edna was born in MaidstoneG on 5 January 19136,7 and died aged 87 in AylesburyG in October 2000.8
     In 1921 Harold was living at 8 Salisbury Avenue, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of his parents Gilbert and Mabel, and was recorded in the census as Harold Gilbert Sackett, aged two.9
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Harold's future wife Edna was living at 3 Elms Avenue, Ramsgate, KentG, in an Underdown household. She was an assistant relieving officer at Kent County Council.10
