Hannah Cayley Hogbin, daughter of Richard Hogbin and Hannah Cayley, was born in KentG in about 18251 and baptized at St Lawrence, KentG, on 18 September 1825.2 She died aged 80 in Eastry, KentG, in 1905.3 She married in EastryG in 1882, William Hards Newing.4
     In 1841 Hannah was living at Wellington Cottages, Ramsgate, KentG, in the household of her parents Richard and Hannah, and was recorded in the census as Hannah Hogbin, a dressmaker, aged 15 and born in Kent.5
     In 1851 she was living at Strand, Walmer, KentG, in the household of her uncle Thomas Cayley, and was recorded as Hannah Hogbin, aged 25. Her cousin Emily Hogbin, 18, was also in the household.6
     In 1861 she was living at Strand, WalmerG, in the household of her widowed uncle Thomas Cayley, and was recorded as Hannah C Hogbin, housekeeper, aged 35. Her brother Richard, 31, was also in the household.7
     In 1891 she was living at 3 Luther Villas, St Patrick's Road, Deal, KentG, and was recorded as Hannah C Newing, head of household, aged 65, a widow living on her own means. Also in the household were her unmarried sister Mary Hogbin, 56, and her married sister Helen Hudson, 54.8
     Hannah left a will which was proved in Canterbury, KentG, on 21 November 1905.9
