Elizabeth Hannah Jones, daughter of James Jones and Mary Evans, was born in Nantyglo, MonmouthshireG, on 6 December 1884.1 She died aged 69 in NantygloG on 16 October 1954.2 She married at Crickhowell, BreconshireG, in 1907, Wilsie John Sutton, son of Edward Sutton and Emma Collins.3
     In 1901 Elizabeth was living at 33 Garn Road, NantygloG, in the household of her parents James and Mary, and was recorded in the census as E Ann Jones, aged 16 and born in Nantyglo.4
     In 1911 she was living at 29 Garn Road, NantygloG, and was recorded as Elizabeth Hannah Sutton, aged 26. She was living with her husband Wilsie, 28. Their daughter Ivy Dorothea, aged two, was living with them.5
     In 1921 she was living at 39 Garn Road, NantygloG, and was recorded as Elizabeth Hannah Sutton, aged 36. She was living with her husband Wilsie, 39, and their children, Ivy Dorothea, 12, Mary Emma, 8, and Edward James, aged four.6
     Elizabeth and Wilsie, then at Gwalia Buildings, King Street, BrynmawrG, were listed on the register of electors in 1931.7
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Elizabeth was living at 2 Gwalia Buildings, NantygloG, with her husband Wilsie. Their daughter Ivy Dorothea was also in the household with her children, Brenys and Mair.8
     Administration of Elizabeth's estate was granted in Llandaff, GlamorganG, on 1 April 1974 (unusually nearly 20 years after her death.)9

     The death has occurred at the age of 69, of Mrs Elizabeth Hannah Sutton, of 2, Gwalia Buildings, King Street, Nantyglo.
     Mrs Sutton, who was a lifelong Nantyglo inhabitant was the widow of Mr Wesley J Sutton and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mrs Sutton is survived by one son and two daughters; one of the daughters, Mrs M. Sackett, resides in Guernsey.
     The funeral which was private took place at Brynmawr Cemetery, Alderman Thomas Wellington, of Queen Street Methodist Church, officiating.
     The mourners were:— Messrs Edward James Sutton, son; Edward Jones (Coventry), brother; Alfred Evans, son-in-law; Bernard Ashman, grandson; Islwyn Rogers, Reginald Watkins, Glanfryn Watkins, Stan Werrett, Aneurin Werrett, David Williams, nephews; James Williams, Edgar Carpenter, cousins.
     The bearers were:— Messrs Ernest Stone, William J. Stone, Thomas Seymour and Reuben Evans of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
     Mourners at the house were:— Mesdames A. Evans, daughter; L. Rogers and M. A. Watkins, sisters; J. Ashman and B. James, granddaughters; L. Williams, W. Werrett, C. Watkins, nieces; J. Evans (Blaina); S. Jones, H. Parry, and Nurse L. Williams, cousins; Mesdames J. Greatwood and E. Dyer, friends.
