Henry Sackett, son of Russel Sackett and Polly Brass, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, in 1819.1 He died there aged 81 on 12 December 1900.2 He married in WestfieldG on 28 December 1847, Sophia Hanchet, daughter of Samuel Hanchet.3,4,5 She was born in MassachusettsG in about 1831.
     In 1850 Henry was living in Chicopee, Hampden CountyG, in the household of Walter and Cynthia Palmer and family, and was recorded in the census as Henry Sackett, a joiner, aged 30, and born in Massachusetts.6
     In 1870 he was living in WestfieldG and was recorded as Henry Sackett, retired from meat market, aged 51. Living with him were his wife Sophia, aged 38 and born in Massachusetts, and son Freddie, aged seven.7
     Henry was included in a list of principal tax payers of Westfield published in the Westfield News-Letter in August 1872.8
