     James was listed in the 1800 census as a householder in Stanford, Dutchess County, New York StateG.2
     He was taxed in StanfordG in 1800 to 1803 on his personal estate. He was not yet a landowner during those years.3 In 1810 he was a householder in Hillsdale, Columbia County, New York StateG.4 In 1820 and 1830 he was a householder in StanfordG.5,6
