Cyrus W. Sackett, 79, a retired building contractor in Davenport for many years, died suddenly at his home in Kansas City, Mo., Saturday, according to word received here today.
The body was returned to Davenport, and taken directly to Hill & Fredericks mortuary. Services will be held at 3 p. m. Wednesday in the chapel, with burial in Oakdale cemetery. His daughter, Mrs. Marshall Chamberlain, of Kansas City, accompanied the body here.
A native of Rock Island, Mr. Sackett was born Nov. 5, 1869, and came to Davenport at an early age. He resided in this vicinity the greater part of his life, and in March, 1934, moved to Kansas City. The former Annie P. McGinnis, whom he married in Davenport, June 1900, died Feb. 26, 1906. Mr. Sackett had resided with his daughter in Kansas City since leaving Davenport.
