Richard Mockett, son of Jonathan Mockett and Mary Fatham, was baptized at St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 11 August 1748.1 He died aged 78 and was buried at Broadstairs, KentG, on 26 October 1826.2 Richard married in about 1771, probably in ThanetG, Mary ___.3
     Richard was apprenticed to John White, a master shipwright, in Thanet in 1765.4
