Orville Edward Sackett, son of Barton Hill Sackett and Verna Marion Darke, was born in Cook County, IllinoisG, on 3 June 1925.1 He died aged 91 on 6 June 2016 and was buried at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, TexasG.2,3 He married in Kansas City, MissouriG, in July 1952, Evelyn Filion, daughter of Thomas J Filion and Irene S ___. Evelyn was born on 7 July 1927.2 She died aged 93 on 9 August 2020 and was buried at Dallas-Fort Worth National CemeteryG.4
In 1930 Orville was living at Woodlawn Road, Glencoe Village, New Trier, Cook County, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents Barton and Verna, and was recorded in the census as Orville E Sackett, aged four and born in Illinois.5
Orville was a first lieutenant in the US Marine Corps. He served in the Second World War and in the Korean War.
