Julia Rena Sackett, daughter of William Henry Sackett and Rena Olivia DeLoach, was born in Bayville, Nassau County, New York StateG, on 9 July 1903.1,2 She died aged 91 in Hallstead, Susquehanna County, PennsylvaniaG, on 16 March 19953,4 and was buried at Lawsville Cemetery, Susquehanna CountyG.2 She married at Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York StateG, on 19 February 1923, Charles Sterling.5 Charles was born in Yonkers, Westchester County, New York StateG, on 7 June 1899.6,2 He died aged 80 in HallsteadG on 22 November 1979 and was buried at Lawsville CemeteryG.2
     In 1910 Julia was living at Klondike Avenue, Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York StateG, in the household of her parents William and Rena, and was recorded in the census as Julia Sackett, aged six and born in New York.7
     In 1920 she was living at Creek Road, Oyster BayG, in the household of her parents William and Rena, and was recorded as Julia R Sackett, aged 16.8
     In 1930 Julia was living at Perry Avenue, Bayville, Nassau County, New York StateG, in the household of her husband Charles Sterling, 30, a plumber, and was recorded in the census as Julia Sterling, aged 26. Living with them were their children, June, 6, Marion, 3, and Charles, aged one.9

Mr. Charles Sterling, 80, of RD2, Hallstead, died Thursday morning at his home after an illness. He is survived by his wife, Julia (Sackett) Sterling, RD2, Hallstead; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (June) Klipera, Mill Neck, Long Island; Mrs. Marion Hillier, Raleigh, N.C; two sons, Charles J. Sterling, Great Bend, Pa; Frank W. Sterling, Montrose, Pa; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; one niece. He was a plumber for 60 years and was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union, No. 112, Binghamton, N.Y.
     Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday from the Bartron Funeral Home, Inc., 74 Church St., Montrose, with the Rev. John H. Dabback of the First Presbyterian Church of Hallstead, officiating. Interment will be in the Lawsville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday evening.
