Rosetta Sackett, daughter of Rev Nathaniel Sackett and Margaret Lazear, was born in Cornwall, New York StateG, on 4 July 1819.1,2 She died at Sea Cliff, Nassau County, New York StateG, on 18 June 19031,2 and was buried at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York CityG.2 She married in New York CityG on 25 April 1842, Albert Chellborg, son of Nils Nicolaus Kjellborg and Gunilla Ingeborg Theel.1,2 Albert died on 17 May 1890 and was buried in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn.2 Obituary—New York Times.
Rosetta's husband, Albert Chellborg (formerly Nils Albrecht Kjellborg), was born 28 April 1812 in Soderkoping, Sweden. He graduated in classics from Uppsala University in 1833 and was a commissioned officer in the Swedish army, being discharged in 1836 from the Gotha Artillery Regiment, Goteborg. He emigrated to New York in 1837 but, not finding suitable work there, moved to Texas (not yet then a state) where he purchased land. According to his obituary, 'After two years of hardship and adventure, he returned to New York.' Albert and Rosetta apparently lived in Brooklyn from the time of their marriage until about 1853, when they bought a farm in upstate New York at Geneva. They sold their farm in 1868 and moved to Manhattan where they opened Chellborg's Restaurant and Bakery.
In 1860 Rosetta was living in Seneca, Ontario County, New York StateG, in the household of her husband Albert, 48, a farmer, and was recorded in the census as Rosetta Chellborg, aged 43 and born in New York. Living with them were their children, Frederick, 14, Gunella, 12, Albert, 10, Sackett, 6, Oscar, 3, and Ida, aged one.3
In 1870 she was living in New York CityG in the household of her husband Albert, 58, a baker, and was recorded as Rosetta Chellborg, aged 51 and born in New York. Living with them were their children, Frederick, 24, Gunilla, 22, Albert, 21, Sackett, 16, Oscar, 14, and Ida, aged 12, b. NY. There were ten others in the household: six male bakers, two female domestic servants, and two females, occupation unspecified but perhaps employed in the bakery.4
