Charles Alexander Sackett, son of Emma Harp, was born in Woodington, Darke County, OhioG, on 11 February 1900.1 He died aged 68 in Wayne Hospital, Greenville, Darke County, OhioG, on 18 April 1968.2,3 He married in about 1923, Mildred L Routson. Mildred was born in OhioG in 1904.4,5 She died aged about 71 in 1975 and was buried at Greenville Union CemeteryG.6
     In 1900 Charles was living at Montgomery Street, GreenvilleG, and was recorded in the census as Charles Sacket, aged three months and born in Ohio. He was living with his mother Emma Harp, a servant in the household of Martha Bowman, 64, a widow, a boarding house keeper.7
     In 1910 he was living in GreenvilleG and was recorded as Charles Sackett, aged ten. He was living with his mother Emma in the household of Emma's mother Susan Harp.8
     Charles was listed in the Greenville High School Yearbook in the freshman class in 1915.9
     Charles served in the US Navy during the First World War, enlisting on 12 May 1917 and continuing in the service until discharge on 23 July 1920 in the rank of Quartermaster.10
     In 1920, Charles was serving on the USS Undaunted in San Pedro, California. He was listed in the census as Chas A Sackett, a quartermaster first class, aged 20, single, and his home address was 129 E Elm St, Bradford, Ohio.11
     In 1930 he was living at East Main Street, GreenvilleG, and was recorded as Chas Sackett, a truck driver, head of household, aged 30. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Mildred, 28, and their children, Chas, 5, Robert, 3, and Mary, aged one.12
     Charles was listed in the Greenville City Directory from 1939 to 1953 as the chief operator of the city sewage plant.13
