Earl William Sackett, usually known as William, son of Samuel S Sackett and Sarah Hodson, was born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, PennsylvaniaG, on 20 January 1894.1,2 He died aged 64 in VA Hospital Aspinwall, O'Hara, Allegheny CountyG, on 15 December 1958 and was buried at Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, Allegheny CountyG.3
In 1900 Earl was living at Fifth Avenue, Arnold, Westmoreland County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Samuel and Sarah, and was recorded in the census as Earl W Sackett, aged six and born in Pennsylvania.4
In 1910 he was living at Cherry Street, Brackenridge, Allegheny CountyG, in the household of his widowed father Samuel, and was recorded as William E Sackett, aged 16.5
Earl served in the US Army from April 1918 to April 1919 during the First World War as a private in the 318th Infantry.6
