Russell Edward Sackett Sr, son of Claude Thomas Sackett and Cora Lulu Franklin, was born in Pleasant Hill, Pike County, IllinoisG, on 8 November 1911.1,2 He died aged 80 in Detroit, Pike County, IllinoisG, on 27 June 19923 and was buried at Pittsfield West Cemetery, Pike CountyG.2 He married first in IllinoisG in about 1933, Annabel Radefeld.4 He married second in Reno, Washoe County, NevadaG, on 25 October 1942, Donna Alberta Galloway, daughter of Harrison David Galloway and Eathel May Scott.2 Donna was born in Pike County, IllinoisG, on 3 November 1920.2 She died aged 60 in Pittsfield, Pike County, IllinoisG, on 23 April 1981 and was buried at Pittsfield West CemeteryG.2
     In 1920 Russell was living at Rockport Road, Pleasant HillG, in the household of his mother Cora, and was recorded in the census as Russell Sackett, aged eight and born in Illinois.5
     In 1930 he was living in New Salem, Pike County, IllinoisG, in the household of his mother Cora and stepfather Mert, and was recorded as Russel E Sackett, aged 18.6
     Russell served in the US Air Force during the Second World War, enlisting on 13 April 1942 and being released on 22 October 1945.7
