Edward Moses Sackett, son of Thomas Edward Sackett and Mamie Mathews, was born in MissouriG on 12 March 1910.1 He died aged 53 in San Mateo, CaliforniaG, on 28 July 19632 and was buried at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma, San Mateo CountyG.3 Edward Moses Sackett and Irene Watkins had a son, also Edward Moses Sackett, born in August 1929. The elder Edward Moses Sackett may have married Bernice ___ in about 1929 (although he described himself as single in the 1940 census.)4 She was born in MissouriG in about 1910.4
In 1910 Edward was living at Call Street, St Louis, MissouriG, in the household of his parents Thomas and Mamie, and was recorded in the census as Edward Sackett, aged one month and born in Missouri.5
In 1920 he was living at Easton Avenue, St LouisG, in the household of his parents Thomas and Mamie, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, aged nine.6
In 1930 he was living at Euclid Avenue, St LouisG, and was recorded as Eddie Sackett, a checker in a warehouse, aged 20. He was a lodger in the household of Sidney & Thelma Goshen. A Bernice Sackett, 19, also a lodger, may have been Edward's wife.7
In 1930 Irene Watkins was living at Gano Avenue, St Louis, MissouriG, with her eight-month-old son Edward in the household of the child's great-grandmother Katie Sackett and grandfather Thomas Sackett.8
In 1940 he was living at Hamilton Street, St LouisG, in the household of his mother Mamie, and was recorded as Edward Sackett, a hotel bellboy, aged 30, single.9
Edward completed a World War II young men's draft registration card, probably in 1942. He was living in St LouisG with his mother Mamie, and was employed by the Jefferson Hotel.10
