Ruth Helen Sackett, daughter of Myer Sacofsky/Sackett and Rebecca H Robinson, was born in Providence, Rhode IslandG, on 15 October 1901.1 She died aged 95 in Los Angeles, CaliforniaG, on 8 May 1997.2 She married in Bridgeport, Fairfield County, ConnecticutG, on 22 August 1920, David Chalfin, son of Louis Chalfin and Molly Shenker. David was born in RussiaG on 2 October 1900.3 He died aged 91 in Los AngelesG on 12 May 1992.4,5,6
     In 1905 Ruth was living at Osborn Street, Brooklyn, New York CityG, in the household of her parents Myer and Rebecca, and was recorded in the census as Ruth Sackett, aged four.7
     In 1910 she was living at 44 Highland Avenue, Bridgeport, Fairfield County, ConnecticutG, in the household of her parents Myer and Rebecca, and was recorded as Ruth Sackett, aged eight and born in Rhode Island.8
     In 1920 she was living at James Street, BridgeportG, in the household of her parents Myer and Rebecca, and was recorded as Ruth Sackett, a clerk, aged 18.9
     In 1930 she was living at Arlington Avenue, Brooklyn, New York CityG, in the household of her husband David, 32, an automobile sales manager, and was recorded as Ruth H Chalfin, aged 28. Their daughter Blanche, aged seven, was living with them.10
     David Chalfin became a US citizen on 14 June 1957. He had immigrated to the United States from Russia in 1908 and served in the US Army from 1916 to 1919. His petition for naturalization was witnessed by his wife Ruth and by Ruth's brother Benjamin. David and Ruth were living at 6404 Orange Street, Los Angeles, CaliforniaG, in 1957, and Benjamin was living in the same street.11
