Richard Long, son of Martin Long and Anne Sackett, was baptized at St Lawrence the Martyr, Thanet, KentG, on 28 November 1699.1
Richard was named in his father's will made at St Lawrence in Thanet on 21 April 1707. He was to inherit his father's estate, with his brothers Martin and John, after the death or remarriage of their mother.2

- Baptisms Register, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent (Findmypast image), "28 Nov 1699 Richd Long s. Martin Long & Mary [sic: almost certainly an error for Anne]." Martin's will names his wife Anne and a son Richard. There is no evidence of a marriage between Martin Long and Mary during this period.
