Eliza M Sackett, daughter of William Washington Sackett and Minerva Drives, was born in Bethany, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 14 February 1842.1 She died aged 74 on 23 November 1916 and was buried at Northwest Cemetery, Woodbridge, New Haven CountyG.1 She married in Seymour, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 7 February 1863, Andrew Sperry.2
In 1870 Eliza was living in Seymour, New Haven CountyG, and was recorded in the census as Eliza Sperry, a worker in the paper mill, aged 28 and born in Connecticut. Living with her were Polly Riggs, 74, Willie Riggs, 4, and Eliza's brother Howard, 18, and sister Emma, aged ten. (Polly Riggs was the aunt of Eliza, Howard, and Emma. Willie, aged four, was Eliza Sperry's son, incorrectly listed as Riggs.)3
In 1880 she was living in Seymour, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, and was recorded as Eliza Sperry, a worker in the paper mill, a widow, aged 37. Living with her were her son Willie, 14, and her widowed mother Minerva Sackett, 63. Living next door were widow Polly Riggs, 83, and her daughter Jane Woodworth, also widowed, aged 47.4
