Charles W Sackett, son of Henry Stark "Harry" Sackett and Edith May Knorr, was born in PennsylvaniaG on 27 July 1902.1 He died aged 55 on 7 March 1958 and was buried at La Grange Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York StateG.2
     In 1910 Charles was living at Woodbury Street, Hanover, Luzerne County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Harry and Edith, and was recorded in the census as Charles Sackett, aged seven and born in Pennsylvania.3
     In 1920 he was living at Lawrence Street, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Henry and Edith, and was recorded as Charles W Sackett, an apprentice in a boiler shop, aged 17 and born in Pennsylvania.4
     Charles enlisted in the US Army in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, PennsylvaniaG, on 27 August 1942 and served in the Second World War in the 2053rd Ordnance Company, Aviation Service. He was discharged over age at Albuquerque, New Mexico, on 1 June 1943 after nine months domestic service.5,6
