John D Sackett, railroad worker, son of Norman A Sackett and Julia A Jenkins, was born in OhioG in 1851.1 He died aged about 41 in 1892 and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, ConnecticutG.1
     In 1860 John was living in Simsbury, Hartford County, ConnecticutG, in the household of his parents Norman and Julia, and was recorded in the census as John Sackett, aged eight and born in Ohio.2
     In 1870 he was living in Avon, Hartford CountyG, in the household of his parents Norman and Julia, and was recorded as John D Sacket, aged 18.3
     John was listed in the New Haven City Directory from 1874 when he was a railroad brakeman. He was a railroad conductor by 1891.4
