William Trelawney Sackett, farmer, son of Trelawney L Sackett and Emily E Leffingwell, was born in North Canaan, Litchfield County, ConnecticutG, on 3 April 1880. He died aged 71 in MassachusettsG on 29 July 1951.1 He married in Sheffield, Berkshire County, MassachusettsG, on 14 March 1905, Ruth Alta Guile, daughter of James L Guile and Emma A Follett.2 Ruth was born in Greene, Chenango County, New York StateG, in about 1882.3 She died aged about 42 in CanaanG in 1924 and was buried at Sackett (Ashley Falls) Cemetery, Ashley FallsG.4
In 1880 William was living in North Canaan, Litchfield CountyG, in the household of his parents Trelawney and Emily, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, aged three months and born in Connecticut.5
In 1900 he was living in North CanaanG in the household of his parents Trelawney and Emily, and was recorded as Wm Sackett, a farm laborer, single, aged 20 and born in Connecticut.6
In 1910 he was living at Sodom Road, North Canaan, Litchfield CountyG, and was recorded as William T Sackett, a carpenter, head of household, aged 31. Living with him were his wife Ruth, 27, and their children, Trelawney, 3, and Marion, aged eight months.7
William completed a World War I draft registration card on 12 September 1918. He was aged 38 and was living in North CanaanG with his wife Ruth. He was a self-employed farmer.8
In 1920 he was living in Canaan, Litchfield CountyG, in the household of his father Trelawney, 77, and was recorded as William Sackett, a farmer, aged 39. Living with him were his wife Ruth, 36, and their children, Trelawney, 13, and Marion, aged ten.9
In 1930 he was living at Sodom Road, North CanaanG, and was recorded as William T Sackett, a farmer, head of household, a widower, aged 50. He owned his home. Living with him were his son Trelawney, 23, and daughter Marion, aged 20.10
He completed a World War II draft registration card in 27 April 1942. He was then aged 62 and was self-employed. He was living at Sodom Road, North CanaanG.11
