Asa John Morris, son of John Morris and Avis Catharine "Katie" Perrin, was born in St Johns, Clinton County, MichiganG, on 8 March 1880.1,2,3 He died aged 86 in Lansing, Ingham County, MichiganG, in September 1966.4 He married first in Grand Rapids, Kent County, MichiganG, on 25 December 1900, Jennie F Kimball, daughter of Herbert Kimball and Alice Rose.5 Jennie was born in Big Rapids, Mecosta County, MichiganG, in about 1883. He married second in Lansing, Ingham CountyG, on 24 May 1918, Bertha (Ellsworth) Crocker, daughter of Legrand Ellsworth and Martha Sowers.6 Bertha was born in Macon, Lenawee County, MichiganG, in about 1882.3 He married third Esther V Daniels, daughter of William D Daniels.1 Esther was born in MichiganG in about 1893.1
     In 1900 Asa was living in Bingham, Clinton County, MichiganG, in the household of his parents John and Avis, and was recorded in the census as Asa J Morris, single, aged 20 and born in Michigan.7
     In 1910 he was living in Victor, Clinton County, MichiganG, and was recorded as Asa Morris, a farmer, head of household, aged 30 and born in Michigan. He owned his home on a mortgage. Living with him were his wife Jennie, 25, and their children, Kathryn, 7, Kenneth, 5, and Gertrude, aged eleven months.8
     Asa completed a World War I draft registration card on 12 September 1918. He was then aged 38 and was living at 809 East Michigan Avenue, LansingG, with his wife Bertha. He was a self-employed horseman.2
     In 1920 he was living in New Haven, Gratiot County, MichiganG, and was recorded as Asa J Morris, a self-employed farmer, head of household, aged 38 and born in Michigan. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him was his wife Bertha, 37.9
     In 1940 he was living in Fulton, Gratiot CountyG, and was recorded as Asa J Morris, a farmer, aged 60 and born in Michigan. Living with him were his wife Esther, 47, and her father William D Daniels, 79.1
     Asa completed a World War II draft registration card on 27 April 1942. He was then aged 62 and was living at Farm #2, Ithaca, Gratiot CountyG, with his wife Ester. He was a self-employed farmer.10
