William O Sackett, son of Jonathan Sackett and ___ ___, was born in ConnecticutG in about 1775.1,2 He died aged 83 in Bethany, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 4 February 1858.2 He married Polly Ann ___.
     William was listed in the 1800 census as a householder in Woodbridge, New Haven CountyG.3
     William and Polly sold a parcel of land in Woodbridge, New Haven CountyG, on 27 January 1815, the signing of the deed being witnessed by their daughter Polly Riggs three months after her marriage.4
     The selectmen of BethanyG appointed an overseer on 8 January 1848 to manage William's financial affairs for a year, having determined that he was spending his estate and likely to become a burden on the town.5
