Ethel Sackett, daughter of Frank David Sackett and Rose E Gifford, was born in New York StateG in December 1898.1 She married first in Albany, New York StateG, on 30 May 1916, William Cogswill, son of William Cogswill and Ida Scott.2 William was born in Riverside, Suffolk County, New York StateG, in about 1894.3 She married second in Binghamton, Broome County, New York StateG, on 22 December 1919, Carl Van Dusen.4
     In 1900 Ethel was living at Great Bend Township, Susquehanna County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of her parents Frank and Rose, and was recorded in the census as Ethel Sackett, aged one and born in Pennsylvania.5
     In 1905 she was living at Binghamton, Broome County, New York StateG, in the household of her parents Frank and Rose, and was recorded as Ethel Sackett, at school, aged six.6
     In 1910 she was living in Hallstead Borough, Susquehanna CountyG, in the household of her parents Frank and Rose, and was recorded as Ethel Sackett, aged ten [actually 11] and born in Pennsylvania.7
     In 1920 she was living in Binghamton, Broome County, New York StateG, and was recorded as Ethel Van Dusen, a telephone operator, married, aged 21 and born in New York. She was living with her husband Carl Van Dusen, 24, a railroad carpenter, in the household of her parents Frank and Rose Sackett.8
     In 1930 she was living in BinghamtonG in the household of her husband Carl, 35, a clerk, and was recorded as Ethel Van Dusen, aged 32 and born in New York. Living with them were their daughter Julia, 8, and Ethel's parents Frank and Rose Sackett.9
